The Leaf Under A Microscope… (Mini blog)

I got my DNA kit in the mail today. I’m very excited but surprisingly I’m also scared to death. I don’t know why exactly, maybe its just the anxiety of actually having some concrete evidence of my genealogy that comes from within me. Knowing what piece of the puzzle that I’m holding and where I fit in. I know this is going to be an almost unbearable wait for the test results.

  1. I can certainly relate to how you feel about how this type of testing will definitely take your family research to the next level. I remember when I first got my FamilyTreeDNA kit. I stared at it for a couple of days before I finally opened it — LOL!

KUDOS to you! I will be looking forward to your findings and hearing about all the possible family connections you will make because of this test . . . best of luck!

  2. It is a big step, but it will open so many new doors in your genealogy journey. Best of luck with gedmatch–it’s pretty intuitive, once you get the hang of it.

  3. I love when another one gets their Kit we do the Happy Dance. You will be on pins and needles until they come back. Will be with you! Take your Photos. “Happy Dancing”.

  4. I know the feeling! I got mine at the beginning of December and just put it in the mail today! Excitement and anxiety are definitely appropriate words! The wait is on now! In the meantime, I guess I have to learn about gedmatch. Happy DNA testing!

  5. I know how you feel! I recieved my test at the beginning of November, but I just mailed it back in today. I was so excited to get it, but not sure why it took me so long to actually submit it. It’s in the mail and now the wait is on!

  6. Oh that’s the next thing I will do get the DNA . Yes I’m sure I’d be nervous as well but we’re on this journey. I’m so happy for you!
